A shocking accident occurred after a driver got behind the wheel after consuming alcohol and drugs, but lost control of the vehicle.
Police in Hajdú-Bihar County received a report of an accident during the night of August 29, after a car crashed into the wall of a house. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then broke through the property’s fence and wall before finally coming to a stop.
During the driver’s identity check, a breathalyzer test returned a positive result. As he was behaving suspiciously, police also carried out a rapid drug test, which was likewise positive. His passenger also failed to conceal that he had used an illicit substance. Police searched the vehicle and found green plant material inside.
The 28-year-old driver and his passenger were taken into custody and questioned as suspects. The circumstances of the accident, as well as the suspected offences of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and drug use, are being investigated as part of criminal proceedings by the Debrecen Police Department.
