Five suspected drug dealers were arrested, while police identified 11 drug users and seized illegal substances, gold jewellery and cash in a coordinated operation in Hajdú-Bihar County.
Investigators from the Criminal Directorate of the Hajdú-Bihar County Police Headquarters received information that drugs were being sold in Komádi, Körösszakál and several nearby settlements. The information was also supported by numerous complaints from local residents.
Police immediately launched an investigation and established that five men were operating a small drug-dealing network in the area. According to investigators, the five men were responsible for supplying illegal substances to local drug users.
A coordinated operation was carried out in the early hours of September 14. Tactical units from several counties, local investigators and officers from the Hungarian National Police Headquarters’ Rapid Response Unit all took part in the raid. Police simultaneously targeted eight locations, arresting the suspected dealers and identifying 11 drug users.
During the searches, officers seized several cannabis plants, cash, gold jewellery, equipment allegedly used for drug distribution, and substances suspected of being drugs.
Proceedings have been launched against the suspected dealers on charges of drug trafficking committed as part of a criminal association. Two of them were taken into police custody, and a court subsequently ordered their detention. The drug users face proceedings for possession of illegal drugs.
