“In April, Debrecen and its twin-city, Oradea is going to organize a joint celebration in Debrecen on the occasion of the taking of oath of those who applied for Hungarian citizenship that can be acquired preferentially.” – said Lajos Kósa, mayor of Debrecen at today’s press conference.
Debrecen and Oradea not only organizes the celebration jointly but Oradea is going to cooperate with Debrecen also in collecting the application forms in the coming period. This year, the “Document Service Center” expects several thousand applications for citizenship instead of the usual less than one hundred per year. About half a million people can get Hungarian citizenship this year.
