The new vehicles will cost approximately 38 million EUR.

CAF, a Spanish railway vehicle manufacturer has won the sixth tram supply tender. Their greatest rival for the tender was the Italian AnsaldoBreda. “On the whole, the best offer was made by CAF…They will deliver 18 low-floor, air conditioned vehicles for nearly 38 million EUR.” – said Deputy Mayor Zoltán Pajna. The two parties will sign the contract in a few weeks, in mid-August, presumably. Within 20 days from the signature of the contract the contractor will have to present the prototype of the trams.
Because the former unsuccessful tenders caused much delay, the supplier will have to pay 4 thousand EUR/vehicle penalty in case of 1-10 days delay, 12 thousand EUR/vehicle in case of 11-20 days delay, 24 thousand EUR/vehicle in case of over 20 days delay.
