The government has ordered budgetary superintendents to some universities and other institutions. Some of them is under examination with immediate effect, others only from the first day of next year. The University of Debrecen belongs to the latter group.
According to the law, the superintendents and intendants can have access to all information on the usage of public funds handled by the budgetary authority under examination, can deliver opinion on the inner regulations and arrangements of economy, and can enter a caveat against actuality, necessity and conformity of large amount expenditures. In reasonable cases, the superintendent ahs the right to suspend any provision.
The University of Debrecen accepts the superintendent in January 2012. As the rector, dr. István Fábián told, the university does not have any debt, so they have nothing to fear.
