The modernization of MHSC buildings has ended. The official opening ceremony was held on 21 May.
The buildings in question are homes to the Departments of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, Physiology, Medical Laboratory. Out of the area of 11.153 square meters, 6.530 square meters have been renovated. During the modernization process, many new teaching and research rooms have been set up, significantly enhancing both training capacities and research potentials.
Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology
24 laboratories and 20 medical study rooms have been renewed. Besides fully renovating 5 dissecting rooms, they have built a sixth one and they have also set up a new plastination room with modern dissecting tables and air conditioning equipment. Due to the major developments, the latest computer and audio-visual education techniques will be used in the teaching of anatomy, histology and embryology from the 2012/2013 semester.
Department of Physiology
In the basement of the institute, 3 new laboratories have been built for educational and research purposes. Also, 3 research studies have been created, greatly improving working conditions.
Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy
10 laboratories and 14 offices have been renewed. New storage rooms have been set up in the basement.
Department of Medical Laboratory
Two multimedia training rooms serve the purposes of interactive teaching for both smaller and bigger groups. Interactive boards, projectors, LCD displays and high-performance multimedia computers make the application of modern methodology possible. MR examination rooms for small animals have been built in the basement and in order to provide an image database for the undergraduate and the postgraduate training, an educational image server has been placed into the rooftop server room.
