A communication system between the University of Debrecen and the University of Oradea has been built and launched recently. The project was funded by the EU with 1 million Euros.
The system, which provides transmission of data, voice and video, and the WiFi connection, were inaugurated on 29 of November. The wide bandwidth guarantees fast paced flow of information and it allows professors of the two universities to maintain real-time communication with low latency.
The Internet system was broadened to such extent that students and professors are able use the facility at the whole area of the campuses. At the University of Debrecen 130 new network access points were established, including Egyetem tér, Kassai Campus, agricultural and medical centers, while in Oradea 82 point became available.
