Hungarian government and the American EPAM Systems Ltd. signed a contract about a huge investment in Hungary. The software development company is going to open a new office in Szeged and there will be hundreds of new jobs in Debrecen too.
According to Péter Szíjjártó, the investment – which covers 1,3 billion HuF – will have a huge impact on the economy in Szeged and Debrecen, since the American EPAM Systems Ltd. is planning to construct a new office building in Szeged and the company will hire 365 new employees in Debrecen too until the end of 2018.
EPAM Systems Ltd. employs more than 20,000 people in the world and it was the eighth on the list of Forbes magazine in 2016 regarding the development of IT companies. EPAM Systems Ltd. came to Hungary 15 years ago and now they have offices in Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged.
According László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, information technology is getting more and more popular in Debrecen too. There are more than 4600 people in the city working for IT companies.
