Local government and NIF Ltd. has signed a contract about the construction of the city’s new railway station.Local government and NIF Ltd. have signed a contract today at the City Hall about the start of the new railway station’s construction work. László Papp (mayor of Debrecen), Róbert Attila Nagy (head of NIF) and László Tasó (Under-secretary of Ministry of National Development) attended the event.
Construction of the new intermodal traffic centre is going to be one of the greatest investments in the history of Debrecen. Contracts will be signed with the constructors in spring 2017 and the renovation of the railway station and its environment will start immediately after that. According to the plans, the new railway station will be opened for the citizens in 2019.
The construction is part of the New Phoenix Plan Project.
