Two Exhibitions Opened on the Revolution of 1956

Two exhibitions have been opened at Déri Museum about the Hungarian revolution of 1956.Two displays have been opened at Déri Museum on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution. At one of the exhibitions, entitled ’56 – An infinite sentence, visitors can watch subjects and artefacts from that period (books, posters, photos, newspapers etc.), while at the second one – with the title Shaped revolution – in memoriam 1956 – there will be various artworks displayed.

László Papp, mayor of Debrecen evoked at the opening ceremony of the exhibitions that the main post office in Debrecen had been shot by a tank on the 23rd of October in 1956. Now there is a renovated T34 tank exhibited in front of the building of the main post office on Hatvan street to remind people of this event.

The two displays can be visited in the museum until the 15th of January, 2017.
