Count István Tisza was assassinated on 31 October 1918; a commemoration was held this afternoon in Debrecen.
Count István Tisza was a Hungarian politician, prime minister, political scientist and member of Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The prominent event in his life was Austria-Hungary’s entry into the First World War when he was prime minister for the second time. He was later assassinated during the Chrysanthemum Revolution on 31 October 1918.
His statue was unveiled in front of the University of Debrecen this morning.
