Different fields of science, innovations and researches can be supported by 220 billion HuF this year.Dr. József Pálinkás, head of NKFI (National Research, Development and Innovation Office) told Figyelő, the economic journal that instead of dividing this huge amount of money very fast, we should focus on achieving goals and processes that create real innovation and have real value.
Companies, businesses, universities and other institutions that receive from the 220 billion HuF, should pay attention to that they should spend it on really effective researches and plans.
József Pálinkás told Figyelő that the process of financing science is changing right now in the United Kingdom, too. Martin Rees and Paul Nurse, two former heads of the Royal Society are having a sharp argument about the best way of spending money on scientific programmes and innovations. The government is about to create an integrated association for the process of financing reseraches.
According to József Pálinkás, those who can support innovations, should also decide about both the main priorities and the directives of developing infrastructures.
The main problem in Hungary is that the majority of innovation capacity can be found only in the capital, however EU-tenders can be more successfully used in cities like Szeged, Miskolc, Debrecen, Pécs, Veszprém or Győr. Due to this fact it happens very often that Budapest-based innovation centres co-operate with companies and institutions found in the countryside.
Hungarian innovations are extremely successful on the field of pharmaceutical industry, and there are great opportunities regarding robotization, vehicle development and digitalizing industry. It is also an option that in the future graduates can found their own start-up companies when they finish colleges and universities, instead of taking a number of exams.
