Energocell is an environment friendly company that produces building insulation from waste glass and it has opened its new plant in Debrecen this week.Energocell produces building insulation from waste glass. They process about 12-13 thousand tons of waste glass each year and produce foam glass granulate, which can be used as insulation in buildings.
Energocell’s new plant was inaugurated on Wednesday (15th of February) in Debrecen. There will be twenty employees working at the new plant in our city.
Dániel Kőszegi, CEO of Daniella Industrial Park Ltd. said that according to the plans, Energocell will hire about 60 people in the following 3-4 years and they would process 40-50 thousand tons of glass each year in the future. Speciality of the new plant of Energocell is that they use only Hungarian technology in their base in Debrecen.
The investment cost 650 million HuF. 166 million HuF were given by the European Union as a support of the project.
According to László Papp, mayor of Debrecen there are about 1000 tons of waste glass collected in Debrecen every year and this new plant of Energocell – which is a unique investment in Central and Eastern Europe – provides a very eco-friendly way of using and recycling waste glass.
