Poor quality products in Hungary

The Hungarian National Food Chain Safety Office listed several multinational products that have worse quality in Hungary than in other Western European countries.

After a thorough examination, the National Food Chain Safety Office (NFCSO) announced the name of those products, which have poor quality.

24 products of multinational corporations were examined; all of the products are sold throughout Europe. According to NFCSO, the qualities of those that are brought to Hungary are worse than those that are sold in other Western European countries.

List of examined products:

  • Milka milk chocolate, Lindt dark chocolate, Raffaello, Mon Cheri – there are no differences
  • Manner products – slight differences in wafer
  • Nutella – those that are sold in Hungary are less spreadable
  • Ritter Sport – Hungarian ones are less smooth
  • Barilla pastas – no difference
  • Rio Mare – those that are brought to Hungary are smaller with 2%
  • Coca-Cola – Hungarian ones contain more sugar
  • Monster energy drink – Hungarian ones contain more saccharine
  • Nesquick – Hungarian ones have less cocoa
  • Vanilla sugar – less vanilla aroma
  • Knorr products – almost totally different ingredients
  • Knorr Fix Carbonara – almost totally different ingredients
