According to MTI, shops and stores will be open until 2:00 pm on Sunday (24th of December), but traders may decide different about the opening hours of their shops. Next Sunday (31st of December), they also can decide about the shops’ and stores’ opening hours.According to the law, after 2:00 pm on the 24th, 25th and 26th of December and on the 1st of January only those shops, stores, restaurants, motels, florists, candy stores, petrol stations and services at bus stations, railway stations and airports may be open that are usually open on public holidays anyway.
Opening hours of shops and stores during the last days of December:
Aldi: 126 stores will be open until 9:00 pm on the 22nd of December. On the 31st of December all Aldi stores will close at 4:00 pm.
Auchan: all Auchan stores will close at 2:00 pm on the 24h of December. On the 31st of December almost all of them will close at 4:00 pm. Only the Auchan stores in Szolnok and in Törökbálint will close at 2:00 pm.
CBA: owners can decide about the opening hours of CBA shops.
Lidl: all the 169 Lidl stores in Hungary will close at 2:00 pm on the 24th of December. On the 31st of December they will close at 4:00 pm.
Penny Market: between the 21st and 23rd of December all Penny stores will close at 10:00 pm. All the stores will be closed on the 24th of December, while on the 31st of December they will close at 2:00 pm.
Spar: Interspar Hypermarkets will close at 2:00 pm on the 24th of December. 335 Spar and City Spar shops will close at noon, two shops will close at 1:00 pm and seven will close at 2:00 pm. Two Interspar stores will close at 2:00 pm on the 31st of December, thirty-one will close at 4:00 pm, while Spar Supermarkets will close between noon and 2:00 pm. Spar Supermarket at Liszt Ferenc International Airport will close at 10:00 pm.
Tesco: Tesco stores will close at 2:00 pm during the bank holidays. Ten Tesco stores will be closed during the holidays. On the 31st of December they will close at 6:00 pm, while ten stores will be closed all day.
