How to charge your mobile phone in the desert? This and similar questions are answered at a two-day conference organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics at the Faculty of Technology.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Debrecen hosts an international conference on 22 and 23 March entitled “Electrical Engineering and Mechatronics EEMC’18” in the framework of Industry 4.0.

120 participants were registered for the event from 20 countries, including Nigeria, Turkey, Pakistan, Syria, Jordan and Romania. Altogether 50 presentations were submitted and the top 30 were accepted.

The meeting focuses mainly on mechatronics related to the industrial revolution that is taking place today, moreover, experts also present their research results. Electronics, IT, telecommunications, e-vehicles, intelligent systems an d approaches, automation, robotics, computing – are only a few examples of the lecture topics. What connects them is Industry 4.0.

“Tertiary technical trainings have to keep up with the 4th Industrial Revolution taking place at the moment, which means that not only engineers but also robot programmers and engineers need to be trained. Since information technology has permeated all areas of the industry, it is necessary for future engineers to have integrated knowledge in the field. Organized for the 9th time, the conference provides a great opportunity for gaining this knowledge on the one hand, and presenting the latest scientific results, on the other” – Géza Husi, head of the Department of Mechatronics, told unideb.hu portal.
