Hungarian School Opened Near Washington

A Hungarian school with a conductive pedagogical approach has been launched in Falls Church near Washington.The school operates as a foundation, helping to improve the condition of disabled children based on the famous Hungarian Pető-program. The head of the school, Katalin Szenczy, said that the program had been developed together with the Hungarian Baptist Charity Service and its name is: FLAME. The complex program is based on the world-renowned Pető-method.

Katalin Szenczy and his colleagues have already been working in Albania, Mongolia, Cambodia and Vietnam, and in Jordan, the Hungarian Baptist Charity Service has also established a FLAME center. The new Hungarian school’s building in Falls Church is owned by the Baptist World Federation. For the time being, the education is available only in small groups, supplemented with special furniture and tools, music and special equipment. There are full-day courses in the summer, but with the start of the autumn season, children are expected to attend after-school sessions in accordance with school education.

In addition to the therapy, they plan to train local experts in the near future.
