Chinese Silver Robot Landed on Moon’s Far Side

Global

The Chinese silver robot, that has just landed on the far side of the Moon, was named after the mythical Chinese lunar goddess Chang’e.

The silver robot is making history right now, since it is sending back images and data from the far side of the moon. The robot landed on Thursday, which act is a major achievement for China’s increasingly impressive space program. This is the first time humanity has landed anything on Earth’s natural satellite since 2013.

China was late to the space race, since the country did not send its first satellite into orbit until 1970, by which time the US had already landed an astronaut on the moon, but now they have been catching up fast.
