Hungarian film director, cameraman, and first head of former Duna Television, Sándor Sára has died at the age of 86.
Sándor Sára – one of the most famous Hungarian film directors and cameramen – was a student at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest. He was a classmate of István Gaál, and they made their diploma film together, which brought an international success to both of them.
Sára was a co-founder of Béla Balázs Studio and he was working together with István Szabó and Ferenc Kósa. Sára made his most popular documentaries in the 1980’s.
