Yesterday was the 9th time that the University of Debrecen’s Student Committee on Environmental Protection had organized a Green Expo, dedicated to raising students’ awareness of environmentalism and eco-friendly practices. A major hotspot for university conservation education, the event featured contributions by a number of conservation organizations, including us.
Just like last year, staff and residents of our Zoo were some of the most popular attractions at Green Expo, with our team readily answering any visitor inquiries about the wonders and challenges of the zoo profession, career options at a zoo, volunteer work or our animal adoption program. For those interested in meeting exotic animals up close, they brought Khao stick insects and death’s head cockroaches as well as Chili, our blue-and-yellow macaw, and Aladár the peaceful bearded dragon.
