Debrecen Zoo: Wild Costume Party Coming Up This Sunday

Culture Local News

Come join us on February 23 for a Wild Costume Party and help us drive winter away and celebrate the arrival of spring. Our event will feature a true riot of colors, partly provided by our residents with unique natural “costumes” that may serve various purposes, from standing out to blending in – attend our thematic keeper talks and feeding shows to meet the up close and learn more about them.

There will also be a Carnival-themed Arts and Crafts Corner in our Gibbon House for those who are interested in some wild face painting or wish to craft something fun, such as a mask or a miniature straw doll. And last, but certainly not least, all may gather in front of our Safari Train at 14:00 for a Hungarian folk ritual that involves burning a large straw doll as a means of banishing winter. As a plus, our Donkey Carriage will be made available for those of you who wish to take a leisurely ride around the premises.

All activities shall be free of charge for visitors with a Zoo Pass and all children with face painting, a costume or a mask on will receive a 50 percent discount off of their entry fees.
