On February 5 and 16, respectively, another two African spurred tortoises joined the 24 that hatched between last November and this January. Developing in their nursery behind the scenes at our Palm House, the little ones belong to the third largest tortoise species in the world; although barely palm-sized for now, they may reach a maximum adult shell length of 83 cm.
