Donations are offered one after the other to the Debrecen Support Fund opened in April so that local families who are in a difficult situation due to the epidemic can be assisted. The Fund is to receive a larger donation again.
Tankcsapda – Hungary’s most popular rock band, whose members live in Debrecen – and Jim Beam bourbon whiskey, which celebrates its 225th anniversary this year, embarked on a charitable action: they produced 225 bottles of Jim Beam in a completely unique gift box decorated with the photo and signatures of the musicians. The limited edition bottles in gift boxes were sold at a price of 10,000 HUF on 18 May 2020.
The 225 boxes were sold in a couple of minutes, and the 2,250,000 HUF amount received was offered to the Debrecen Support Fund to assist people who have found themselves in a difficult situation due to the coronavirus epidemic. The members of Tankcsapda ceremoniously handed over the amount to László Papp, Mayor of Debrecen on 27 May 2020.
