Thirty per cent of the energy-efficient facility have already been let out, and there is great interest in the rest of the place. The office complex will have a total size of eleven thousand square metres once the second development phase is finished. At maximum utilisation, more than one thousand people will be able to work in the Agora Office.
The construction of the Agora Office was launched in the spring of 2018, at the corner of Barna Street and the small western boulevard. The site had an uninhabitable building on it, which had been closed for 15 years. In its place, Dryvit Profi Kft. designed a more than ten-thousand-square-metre office block meeting all requirements. The first phase of the construction was inaugurated as part of a ceremony held on 14 July 2020. The category „A” complex of 5,500 square metres can seat even 600 employees at maximum utilization.
Vice Mayor Lajos Barcsa pointed out the following at the opening ceremony: the city has become a major centre in the region not only from an industrial but also form a business point of view. He added: Debrecen is the second largest service centre in the country following Budapest, and the new office block can provide space for further investors in the future. This sector has 4,500 employees in the city, and the number grows by 10 per cent annually. Fifteen service centres employ those who are active in the high added value service sector and thus do honour to our city – emphasized the vice mayor.
