Fully 160 Covid patients, mostly elderly and suffering from an underlying illness, died over the past 24 hours in Hungary, while 3,221 infections were registered, bringing the total over the course of the pandemic to 259,588, koronavirus.gov.hu said.
The death toll stands at 6,280 while 76,270 have made a recovery. The number of active infections stands at 177,038, while 7,945 patients are in hospital, 661 on ventilators. Fully 45,957 people are in official home quarantine, while the number of tests carried out has risen to 2,187,555. Most of the infected have been registered in Budapest (53,263) and Pest County (33,611), followed by the counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron (16,170), Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (15,381), Hajdú-Bihar (14,336) and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg (13,197). Tolna County (4,460) has the least number of infections.
