Socialist MP Sándor Szabó has demanded that the central government ensure secure financing for municipalities, which “had a black year in 2020 and cannot expect much good this year, either”.
Szabó said on Facebook that the government had “started systematically dismantling the municipal system, stripping local governments of most of their revenues”. He insisted that municipalities could no longer perform their tasks appropriately.
