In the Northeast, air pollution has increased again due to airborne dust.
According to the map of the National Center for Public Health (NNK), the air was classified as dangerous in Putnok and unhealthy in Sajószentpéter on Wednesday.
In addition, air quality in Kazincbarcika, Miskolc and Debrecen was objectionable. Based on the forecasts, no significant change is expected in any of the affected settlements.
The air hygiene index system has four categories: acceptable, objectionable, unhealthy and dangerous. NNK has previously pointed out that air pollution causes short-term respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, respiratory irritation, dyspnea), but also increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases in the long term.
