Euro Pet – Hungary Kft. Donated a large amount and value of pet food to the public administration of the Debrecen Public Area Inspectorate.
Euro Pet – Hungary Kft. – as a caring company in Debrecen – has been cooperating with the city’s local government for a long time: it supports the city’s charitable activities and aid fund, said Deputy Mayor Diána Széles. This year, they also offered their help, in the framework of which this time they donated pet food to the Debrecen Public Area Inspectorate’s animal shelter near the Bánk part of the settlement. Moreover, with the support of the city, the infrastructure has undergone significant development in recent years, including the renewal of kennels and the construction of a runway and a new fence, thus improving the housing conditions of the animals. And with the current donation, the dogs will be able to receive even more food as part of their normal supply, which they certainly did not have as stray cattle. In this connection, Diana also drew attention to the importance of responsible animal husbandry: in her opinion, any family that wants to keep a dog or a cat should seriously consider whether they can take care of a pet in an appropriate and dignified way together, including all family members.
As Orsolya Mészáros, the company’s representative, said: their business was established exactly ten years ago, primarily for the purpose of distributing pet food. Shortly after the beginnings, they also entered the market with self-manufactured products, from which the current donation was also compiled. They are constantly supporting animal shelters, and asking for the advice of the deputy mayor, at their suggestion, with their current donation, they are helping the shelter. Now they have arrived with a total of 2,000 kilograms of dry and canned food, worth half a million forints, and they would like to make similar support regular in the future.
This amount of dog food is enough for about two months on the farm, so it is a huge help, which allows the dogs to be fed in a more varied way than usual, said György Lelesz, the head of the Debrecen Public Area Inspectorate. There are currently 26 dogs in the shelter, but a total of about 400 dogs usually turn up here each year. In 2020, their number was less than that – 270 – and in addition to these, they caught 60 dogs as stray animals, which, by identifying them with the help of implanted chips, could be immediately returned to their owners. György Lelesz drew attention to the fact that on the website of the Debrecen Public Area Inspectorate – ww.kozteruletfelugyelet.hu, under the heading Ebrendészeti telep, in the drop-down menu – those dogs that can be regularly checked and accepted by the veterinarian are included in the drop-down menu. to take it away – only for the implantation of the chip and reimbursement of the cost of vaccinations.
