Teenagers stole a car in Debrecen – they collided with a car parked nearby

The Debrecen Police Headquarters has completed its investigation into the case.

A man reported to the police on March 3, 2020 around 8 pm that his car parked on Thomas Mann Street in Debrecen had been stolen. Police went to the scene, collected data and identified the alleged perpetrators, 11- and 16-year-old local boys. According to the investigation, the two young people got into the open car and went to Miklós Sínai Street, where they collided with a parked vehicle. Investigators questioned the 16-year-old boy as a suspect and his companion was also questioned about the case.

During the investigation phase of the proceedings and due to a well-founded suspicion of committing a criminal offense of arbitrary seizure of a vehicle, the Criminal Department of the Debrecen Police Headquarters carried out the necessary procedural acts and handed over the case files to the prosecutor’s office.
