189, mostly elderly, chronic patients died, and another 9,046 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus infection, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday, highlighting that 1,589,601 people have been vaccinated in Hungary so far, 479,389 of whom have already received the second dose.
The government portal wrote that the number of infected people in Hungary had increased to 580,642. The number of deaths rose to 18,451, and the number of people who recovered increased to 373,666.
The number of active infections increased to 188,525. More than a thousand were hospitalized over the weekend, with 11,276 coronavirus patients currently being cared for in hospitals, 1,340 of whom are on ventilators.
There are 43,961 people in official home quarantine, and the number of samples has increased to 4,315,305.
