285, mostly elderly, chronic patients died, and another 3,597 Hungarian citizens were diagnosed with the coronavirus infection, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Wednesday, highlighting that 3,037,023 people have been vaccinated in Hungary so far, 1,290,709 of them got the second dose of the vaccine.
The government portal wrote that the number of infected people in Hungary had increased to 731,675. The number of the deceased rose to 24,265 and that of the recovered to 435,344.
The number of active infections is 272,066. The hospital cares for 10,364 coronavirus patients, 1204 of whom are on ventilators.
There are 43,992 in official domestic quarantine, and the number of samples has increased to 5,011,794.
It was highlighted that 30.7 percent of the Hungarian population has already been vaccinated, compared to the EU average of 15.8 percent.
The government will also assess the epidemiological situation at its Wednesday meeting, they wrote.
According to the map of the site, most people have been registered so far in Budapest (134,221) and Pest County (102,128). It is followed by Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén (40,822), Győr-Moson-Sopron (40,800) and Hajdú-Bihar county (38,848). The county least affected by the infection is Zala (16,064).
