The foundation stone of the new kindergarten in Tócóvölgy was laid on May 17, 2021. The institution, which will be built in the area behind Egressy Béni Square, is expected to receive children living in the district from the 2022/2023 school year onwards. In Debrecen, the government’s family policy has brought spectacular results over the past ten years, Mayor László Papp announced at the ceremony.
The new kindergarten will be built with three traditional and one completely barrier-free group room, which will allow it to start with 100 beds as the Sunshine Member Institution of the Tócóskerti Kindergarten. Mayor László Papp stated that:
there was no kindergarten in Tócóvölgy so far, and despite the fact that there are three institutions in Tócóskert, there are still fewer places than the number of children in this area, so there was a great need for investment.
László Papp added: In Debrecen, the number of marriages has increased by more than 60 percent and the number of births by almost 11 percent in the last ten years.
The construction cost of the kindergarten in Tócóvölgy is about HUF 694 million.
