Negotiations have begun on strategic cooperation between the Hungarian National Vaccine Center and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RFPI) responsible for Russian vaccine production, – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced to MTI after meeting with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Genyis Manturov on Thursday on the occasion of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
As he said, there was an agreement in principle that the Russian side would technologically allow the production of Sputnik V or other Russian vaccines if it succeeds in concluding negotiations on strategic cooperation, followed by technological issues.
“The point is that both the Russian and Hungarian sides are open and willing to allow our national vaccine factory to produce vaccines on the basis of a Russian license.”
