1434 local governments won support worth about HUF 26 billion for the development of tasks, said the local government secretary of the Ministry of the Interior at a press conference in Budapest on Monday.
Tibor Pogácsás said: 95.73 percent of the 1498 applicants, 1434 settlements, will receive a total of more than 25.8 billion forints. Grants are paid from a central budget source. The most popular tender element was the renovation of inland roads, for which 1,220 municipalities won funding.
In the field of institutional development, the municipalities successfully applied for the renovation of 10 nurseries and 41 kindergartens, 32 general practitioners, 12 home pediatricians, 31 nurses and 9 dentists, as well as 42 joint municipal offices.
The Ministry of the Interior also supported the construction of 27 new sports facilities – sports fields, sports parks, sports halls, kindergartens or school gyms, and an outdoor fitness park – as well as the development of 56 existing institutions.
In Hajdú-Bihar county, 54 settlements benefited, Püspökladány, Hajdúboszörmény and Hajdúsámson received the most money for the renovation of inland roads, sidewalks and bridges, while Debrecen received HUF 39 million and Balmazújváros HUF 35 million. A lot of money was also received for the renovation of the buildings performing the obligatory municipal task, in this title Sárrétudvari’s 39 million is the largest amount, but Berekböszörmény received 37 million and Pocsaj also got 35 million:
According to a government decree published in the Hungarian Gazette, Debrecen and Hajdúböszörmény received additional subsidies. Debrecen will receive another HUF 45 million to cover the costs of withdrawing real estate from the cultivation branch, and Hajdúböszörmény will receive HUF 220 million for the development of its road network, the development of public cultural institutions and the establishment of a leisure park.
