The government is working to ensure that products that replace disposable plastics, which are now banned in Hungary, are produced domestically, the finance minister said on Facebook on Wednesday.
“The goal is to have as many bio-degradable products as possible made in Hungary,” he said, announcing a 10 billion forint (EUR 2.8m) scheme to award grants of between 20 million and 400 million forints to firms expanding capacity or purchasing new technologies. The assessment of bids will be fast-tracked, he added.
