The number of places where city-card holders can claim discounts has been increased to twenty-eight. Several commercial and catering units have also joined the list, offering unique opportunities for Debrecen residents.
The Debrecen City Card has been available since June 2020. At the Aquaticum Debrecen Beach, which opened last year, users immediately received significant discounts, but cultural and sports organizations also provided discounts on their ticket and rental prices. Now the number of stakeholders has been expanded by another 20 service providers, announced Deputy Mayor Diána Széles at the press conference held on July 12, 2021, in the Vintage World cafe & flower shop.
“The city card is synonymous with quality service. We would like to thank all the entrepreneurs in Debrecen who provide quality service, as well as a discount for those who live here. Those who join can use a single sticker at the entrance to indicate that they are among our partners,” the deputy mayor added.
Most of the newly connected venues are catering establishments, but museums, attractions, sports-related service providers and event management companies have also been added to the list.
Typically, Debrecen residents can take advantage of 10 percent discounts in these places.
Gábor Gődény, the managing director of VisitDebrecen, said: it is up to each service provider to decide what kind and extent of discount it provides to those who have a city card. To use this, it is enough to present the card, but VisitDebrecen’s goal is to have guest traffic data on the number of card users.
“We can install a card reader for the partner through which you can see exactly when and how often a transaction with the city card takes place. This data is also valuable for service providers, as it facilitates the company’s further marketing activities, ”emphasized Gábor Gődény.
Sándor Som, owner of Vintage World cafe & flower, said that like several other restaurants, they also provide a ten percent discount on on-site consumption to the holders of the Debrecen City Card.
