Two Italian men and a man from Debrecen looted the Covid sampling point in Debrecen

The report was received by the police on the morning of October 31, 2021, that someone had broken into a Covid sampling point on Péterfia Street in Debrecen the night before. Local investigators conducted comprehensive inspections, data collection, and witness searches. Their work paid off in a few days. Two Italian men and a partner in Debrecen who were suspected of being linked to the crime came into their sight.

According to the investigation, everyone had a special role in the trio. The 46-year-old Hungarian man provided his companions with a car for the crime, one Italian was the driver and the other foreigner broke the door of the sampling point and then took the money box.

The investigators arrested the Hungarian man and the 56-year-old driver in Debrecen on November 4, 2021, and identified their partner. The Italian citizen is suspected of having left the country, so the police will take all necessary measures to catch him.

Following the interrogation of the 56-year-old foreigner as a suspect, investigators were held in criminal custody and a motion was made for his arrest, which was ordered by the Debrecen District Court at the request of the prosecutor’s office. The 46-year-old local man is able to defend himself at the current stage of the proceedings.

The Criminal Department of the Debrecen Police Headquarters launched an investigation against them on the basis of a well-founded suspicion of theft.
