Man steals electronic devices, tools, and cash from open cars

Police in Balmazújváros apprehended the man who, on reasonable suspicion, stole various electronic devices, tools, and cash from several open cars.

A local resident notified police at dawn on November 15, 2021, that a man in Balmazújváros wanted to steal his car parked on the street. Following the signal, the officers immediately went to the address provided and apprehended the alleged perpetrator. As it turned out, he stole 250 euros from the same location a week earlier, in which case he took the money out from under the car seat.

The local resident was interrogated as a suspect after his production, during which he testified in detail and admitted to investigators the commission of several similar crimes. Police conducted a search of the man’s home, during which more than HUF 1 million worth of stolen tools and electronic devices were seized, which were partially returned to the owners.

The Criminal Department of the Balmazújváros Police Headquarters initiated proceedings against the local resident on the basis of a well-founded suspicion of committing a criminal offense.

In connection with the case, the Hajdú-Bihar County Police Headquarters draws attention to the fact that car owners always lock their vehicles and do not leave their valuables in a visible place!
