On the third Sunday of Advent, Ákos Balázs, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen, János Kiss, pastor of the Baptist Church in Debrecen, and András Besztercey, pastor of the Reformed Parish of Debrecen, spoke their festive thoughts and lit the candle of joy. In his ceremonial speech, Deputy Mayor Ákos Balázs said: Thank God we experience so many blessings here in Debrecen. Although we have difficulties, we have to reach ups and downs, but we also experience miracles in the Advent expectation, thanks to God, who is constantly strengthening us.
The deputy mayor added: he feels that this condition is good, a happy condition, with all his bitterness and pain, because we can be sure that when Jesus walks through Debrecen, he will smile. And we look forward to his arrival with a smile, turn to each other with a smile, content with what we have and who we have! Because we are all gifts to each other!
