The Debrecen Regional Investigation Prosecutor’s Office ordered an investigation into the crime of violence against an official committed in a group and armed manner.
On December 19, 2021, a family in Nyírség held a celebration involving the consumption of a larger amount of alcohol on the birthday of one of their children. When the drinks began to run out, several of the family members went to the nearby bar, illegally went into the closed yard, and demanded alcohol there, but they were not given anything. The bartender informed police, who had taken action to prevent another violation due to loud music.
Meanwhile, the drunk 16-year-old boy and his 50-year-old mother went back to the bartender and his wife, who was about to close the gate, and they pushed her to the ground and abused her. Police who spotted the plot prevented further abuse and arrested the juvenile when the boy’s 19-year-old sister walked over and, while many shouted angrily and hostilely at the action, attacked one of the police officers.
Taking advantage of the distribution of the police’s attention, the juvenile got rid of the catch, picked up a 90-centimeter-long ax, and threatened to kill the police officers, and shouted to hide from it. Meanwhile, the mother brought out a tear-jerking spray and used it to threaten the police, and then her daughter joined in the threat while her son waved his ax and tied a large dog in front of the front door so the police could not enter.
Police asked for reinforcing force at the scene, with the help of which order was restored, family members kept threatening the acting police until the reinforcement arrived and obstructed the action.
The investigating prosecutor’s office interrogated all three perpetrators as suspects and then applied for an arrest warrant. The investigating judge, agreeing with the prosecutor’s motion, ordered the arrest of the suspects.
