Áder Calls for Global Water Database

Global

The international community should create a global water database with precise information on the quality of water supplies available around the world, President János Áder said after attending the Meeting of the Water and Climate Coalition Leaders in Geneva on Tuesday.

Áder told a press conference after the meeting that plans were to finalise the proposal for the creation of the database by 2023. Without such a global database, it will be impossible to accurately and securely design the infrastructure of an increasingly urbanised world, the president said. The meeting hosted by the World Meteorological Organization was attended by Petteri Taalas, the organisation’s secretary-general, among others.
