Hungary will continue to help protect against the coronavirus worldwide, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade said on Thursday.
In his post, Péter Szijjártó pointed out that there is less and less talk about the war, but unfortunately the fight against the pandemic is not over yet, and even in the absence of vaccines, many countries are still fighting hard against the coronavirus.
He put it this way: we know that by increasing the vaccination rate globally, we can continuously reduce the chances of developing newer variants, so we are helping countries in difficulty with vaccine donations. He added that we are still facing a number of serious challenges.
He underlined: Hungary continues to help protect the world. So far, we have helped 4.7 countries with 4.7 million doses of vaccine.
As he said, Hungary will donate 523,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Cambodia on Thursday. He stressed that Hungary has crossed the one million mark in terms of vaccines donated to the country of Southeast Asia.
