Work on the outskirts section of the 4808 road between Debrecen and Hosszúpályi may start in the third quarter, it was reported in a press conference at the County Hall.
Zoltán Pajna, the chairman of the Hajdú-Bihar County Assembly, reminded that within the framework of the EU TOP Plus (Regional and Settlement Development Operational Program Plus), about 50 kilometers of roads will be renewed in the next period, from HUF 8.4 billion. He added that from the previous period, improvements are still in progress from TOP, such as the asphalting of the section of road 4808 between Hosszúpályi and Debrecen.
Member of Parliament Dr. István Vitányi also described the investment in detail. He said that the road development worth HUF 1 billion concerns a 7.7-kilometer section, for which there are licensed plans and construction plan documentation; some areas are currently being expropriated. The section to be renovated will be given a new layer of asphalt, bus stops will be renewed, a curb will be built, the Kondoros River Bridge and the Kati Creek Bridge will be renovated, and damaged signs will also be replaced. He also said that another section of this route will also be included in TOP Plus, in which the section through the Long Distance will be renewed.
Zoltán Szoták, the county director of Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt., Said that there will still be no complete road closure during the works. The renovation will be carried out in sections, with a halfway roadblock, providing reciprocating traffic.
