The sports tour arrived in Hajdú-Bihar county on March 22, with the aim of presenting the successes and development results of sports in the recent period to sports professionals, physical education teachers and sports association leaders, the county government said. The speakers will report on the measures taken and future plans, as well as thank the athletes and the professionals who train them for their work and achievements in the field of sport.
At the event in Debrecen, Zoltán Pajna, the president of the Hajdú-Bihar County Local Government, greeted the participants and emphasized that the county local government also strongly supports sports, e.g. sports scholarship applications or sporting events. He particularly welcomed the professionals who appeared, as well-trained coaches are at least as important as infrastructure investments.
Attila Vári, the president of the Hungarian Water Polo Association, emphasized in his presentation that the biggest sports developments in the history of Hungary have taken place in the recent period. He added, the infrastructure is not just for elite athletes, but also for health and health care. The expert reported, among other things, grants to sports organizations, measures to support a healthy lifestyle for schoolchildren, student sports and youth programs, the development of school sports facilities, sports development grants, past prestigious sporting events, and the sports park program.
Based on his own experiences, Dr. István Vitányi, Member of Parliament, emphasized the educational effect of sport. As he said, sport shapes human character and creates friendships. He thanked the sports leaders who, with their professional commitment, are the engines of local sports.
