The Ethnographic Section of the István Hatvani College of the University of Debrecen and the Contemporary Free University of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen is organizing a joint student conference on the subject of Hajdú-Bihar County.
The aim of the Contemporary Free University, recently established by the Department of Ethnography of the DE Faculty of Humanities, is to disseminate the latest ethnographic and museological research results as widely as possible.
The events, conferences, workshops, and roundtable discussions within the framework of the Contemporary Free University in the enrollment area of the University of Debrecen, in its immediate vicinity, and in the region undertake to share knowledge for various age groups,

The Deputy Head of the Department of Ethnography emphasized that the events of the Contemporary Free University focus on the changing traditions, the processes of heritage creation, today’s rural worlds, and the role of ethnography in contemporary society, which is essential for understanding cultural processes.
The event on April 7, which will be hosted by the Rainbow Hall of the Péter Méliusz Juhász Library (Debrecen, Bem tér 19 / D) on Thursday, will be attended by students and doctoral students of the Department of Ethnography of DE BTK and mentors of the Ethnography Department of István Hatvani College about their own research results.
Topics include the presentation of pastoral skills in Hortobágy, the legacy of the ethnographic work of Gyula Varga and the exploratory work of the Álmosd Digital Repository, and topicality such as the issue of modern mask-wearing.
