A 46-year-old man killed his daughters and then attempted suicide, writes police.hu. The Criminal Department of the Pest County Police Headquarters is investigating several homicides.
According to a police statement, police arrived at one of the apartments in a block of flats in Aszód on Thursday, following a citizen report, from which the people smelled a strange odor. The patrols, with the help of firefighters, entered the dark apartment where two bodies were found. A 14-year-old girl was lying in the bed, and a 16-year-old girl was in the other bedroom.
Based on the on-site inspection and the extensive data collection, according to the findings of the investigation so far, the two children came to see their father living in Aszód from their place of residence in Heves County on May 20th, 2022. The father – most likely at dawn from 20th to 21st May – killed his daughters in their dream, and then attempted suicide near the locomotive in Adács, Heves County. An ambulance helicopter took the man to the hospital in a life-threatening condition. He is not currently interrogated and is being guarded by police.
The Criminal Department of the Pest County Police Headquarters is conducting further proceedings with the involvement of experts due to a well-founded suspicion of the crime of killing several people.
