The Faculty of Public Health of the University of Debrecen joined the sand garden children’s day event of the Debrecen Cultural Center with an unusual health preservation program. At the event, dietitians and physiotherapist students also drew the attention of children and parents to the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Students have shown children and their parents that physiotherapy is not only a method of treatment but also a playful exercise that move multiple muscle groups to develop functional skills.
In addition to strengthening, the children also performed movement coordination and balance-building exercises on the obstacle course built by the students of the Faculty of Public Health, Department of Dietetics and Physiotherapy.
In the health tent, the students also gave advice to those interested in maintaining health, as well as waiting for the visitors with their own healthy food.
In the program, students drew attention to the fact that these dishes can also be delicious, simple, and easily accessible. Visitors to the tent could also get answers to their questions related to health and health care. It was a special pleasure for the students to give positive feedback to the children as we know that it is not easy to get them to eat vegetables. We hope that in the future, parents will also be able to prepare these simple but nutritious meals for their children at home,
– said Judit Zsuga, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health.
Attendees of the event were able to taste, among other things, paprika cream, cheese radish cream, wholemeal baguette, and homemade granola served with natural yogurt and fresh strawberries.
