The third stage of the western bypass bypassing the center of Debrecen has been completed, and with this, the entire two-kilometer long road can now be used by motorists – according to what was announced at the handing over of the road section on Wednesday.

The investment is the result of a long process: the first section was completed in 2012, the second in 2015, and the third, a 419-meter section, has just been completed.

The works cost HUF 1.6 billion, for which the municipality provided HUF 230 million of its own resources.

During the long preparation, another HUF one billion was spent on expropriations.

On the 2×3-lane boulevard, bus lanes and bicycle paths were also created, and 163 new trees were planted.
