The Campus Festival officially started in Debrecen in the Big Forest on Wednesday evening.
In his opening speech, Minister of Technology and Industry László Palkovics said that BMW chose Debrecen when looking for a location for its new factory, among other things, because the city was sufficiently attractive.
Events such as the Campus Festival contribute to making Debrecen more and more attractive and it is good to live here, he said.
László Palkovics from the University of Debrecen told MTI that in the last eight years since his ministry and the institution have been cooperating, the university has moved in the right direction in all areas, and new disciplines such as the vehicle industry and the machine industry have appeared.
The institution is moving forward in the various rankings, and the site of the Campus Festival, the Nagyerdei Stadium, is also owned by the university, that is, the rich university in Debrecen, he said.
At the Sunday Debrecen Campus Festival, more than 200 concerts and DJ performances, as well as countless other programs await visitors at 19 program locations. One of the biggest light music festivals in the country will be held this year for the 14th time.
