If you are interested in the history of the flower carnival, would like to know interesting facts and behind-the-scenes stories from the past 100 years of the carnival’s history, are curious about where and how the flower carts are made, and in the meantime would like to learn about the history and landmarks of Debrecen, you can do it with Nóra Erdei on August 19.
The history of the Debrecen Flower Carnival goes back to the year 1900 when the Debrecen Civic Bicycle Association organized a large-scale bicycle parade and competition in the city. The first flower carriage parade was held in 1905 on Simonyi út, with the proceeds of which an ambulance was purchased. Those interested can learn more about such and similar interesting things on the flower carnival walk.
At the end of the sightseeing walk, the participants will have the opportunity to see the flower carts being prepared. In addition to the participation fee, a valid public transport ticket is required for this.
